Various Verizon Venal Vagary

When I was a young boy the public school system taught us that " Our
Government " would protect us from foreign invaders, fraudulant
companies, and the injustices of Predators.

I look around today and I can not hardly find any traces of
" That Mythical Government "!!!

What I see is " looting everywhere " on just about everything.!!!

" Cost Plus "contracts for useless, unneeded military equipment.
Useless and unnecessary " medical testing " for the elderly, the
poor, and the disabled.
Taxes, taxes, taxes, and more taxes to pay for the corruption, graft,
and incompetency of our completely misnamed " Public Servants ".

What I see is " Our Government " being made into a " Whore " for the
hoitty toitty " Special Interests " with the money, influence, and
ruthlessness needed to turn our own government officials into
slimeball, grovelling leeches eagerly preying upon us citizens. The
only exception, of course, being Congressman Dr. Ron Paul from Texas.

Today, I received my Verizon telephone bill, in the mail, to comfirm
my cynicism; and growing distaste of all monopolies, all authorities,
and all agencies.

" Your Verizon Long Distance qualifying charges this month are $0.00.
When long distance charges are less than $3.50, the " shortfall
charge " is the difference between those charges and $3.50. All long
distance charges except for taxes and surcharges are included. "

( Verizon charges $0.25 per minute after the initial fee for the
call so people buy " phone cards " to make long distance calls!! )

VERIZON PAYING BY CHECK NOTICE

" When you provide a check, you authorize us either to use
information from your check to make a one-time electronic fund
transfer from your account or to process this transaction as a check.
If you wish to be excluded from this process, please call 1-888-500-
5358. ( If you call you will be given another number to call that
you will be charged over $5.00 to make; and that charge does not
include the taxes, and does not include the surcharges. )

" When we use information from your check to make an electronic fund
transfer, funds may be withdrawn from your account as soon as the
same day we receive your payment, AND YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE YOUR
CHECK BACK FROM YOUR FINANCIAL INSTITUTION. "

America On Line led the way to robbing the citizens of this country
through multiple unauthorized monthly electronic fund transfers.
Some AOL customers had their monthly fee taken each and every day
and the only way to stop it was to close their checking account.
No one at AOL went to jail; AOL just gave then New York Attorney
General Eliot Spitzer some small fine money compared to what they
stole from their customers.

OK Verizon - No More Personal Checks From Me. From now on you get
money orders from the United States Postal Service and the hassle
that goes, crate and barrel, with trying to cash them in,
in any kind of a god damned hurry!!
