The Way That It Is In America!!

Today is November 22, 2009. I remember exactly where I was 46 years ago
on this date. I was running my coater machine at the Ace Carbon Paper
Company on Summer Street in South Boston Massachusetts when someone
yelled out President Kennedy Has Been Shot.

In those days the governments of the U.S.A. and the U.S.S.R. were always
at each others throats over everything imaginable. We gathered around the
foremans radio expecting to hear that war had been declared after they
announced that President Kennedy was dead!

A day or two later I was sitting in front of my television set watching
the Dallas Police Detectives march Lee Harvey Oswald down a ramp in the
Police Station. Wearing a brimmed hat Jack Rudy walked up to Oswald and
shot him to death on live television.

This country has never been the same since that day. Assasination has
been the order of the day ever since J.F.K was gunned down. Yes, there
were other Presidents killed but that did not cause a bunch of high
profile assassinations the way that Kennedys did.

When you look back at the history of this country killing people is
something America has always been proficient at doing for any reason.

Whether it is just an individual, or a small group, or an arm of the
Government; killing other people is something we Americans are good at
doing. We must like it!

Here on Staten Island there have been a recent rash of homicides within
the past month. There is speculation that a gang fued is going on.

Up in the Bronx an innocent teenage school girl lies in a coma because
she was shot in the head by a wayward bullet fired from a gun of a 16
year old kid shooting at someone as he chased after him on his bicycle.

The teenager being shot at has two brothers in jail who did something to
someone. In todays world that is now a justification for murder.

Months ago a girl died in her own home from a bullet sent through the
door that was meant for her brother just a few blocks from me.

Todays teenagers have narcotics flowing through their arteries and all
kinds of handguns in their pockets without any resevations about taking
the gun out of their pocket and shooting anyone, at any time, for any
reason that comes into their wayward minds.

In a way they reflect our soldiers and our police officers who also kill
at the drop of a hat for any reason.

All of the Kennedy brothers are dead now and the younger Kennedys are
wise enough to stay out of the national spotlight. In America if you
are saying things that people do not like you may be shot dead.

That Is The America Way!!
