Gentlemen:

I Am But One Of Thousands Of New Yorkers That Are Having Their Lives
Disrupted, Disorganized, And Shattered By Every Branch Of New York
Government!!

The Residents of Staten Island Are Constantly And Continually Treated
Like Unwanted Step-Children By Every Branch Of New York Government!!

Instead Of Equal Services; We Get Crumbs, Or Absolutely Nothing At All!!

As Far As I Am Concerned, Gentlemen, Every Single Part And Parcel Of New
York Government Belongs Under Federal Receivership! The Sooner The Better!!

The MTA Plans To Consolidate The S 42 and S 52 Bus Routes Upon Staten
Island By Eliminating Service To The Poor People At The Beginning Of
The S 52 Bus Route and At the End Of the S 42 Bus Route!!

I Am Sure Than None Of You Gentlemen Has Ever Heard Of The Mahoney
Playground; Nor Have You Ever Been Made Aware Of How Many Homicides,
Stabbings, Robberies, Beatings, And Other Assorted Mayhem Has Happened At,
Or Around, This Notorious New Brighton Playground Over These Many Years.

I Am Sure That None Of You Gentlemen Have Any Idea Just How Overcrowded
The Buses Upon Staten Get Every Single Day And Night!! You Count The
Farebox Beans , Not People; You Do Not See Bus Drivers Letting People
Ride For Free Every Single Day As I Do.

I am Retired So I Can Wait Until 9:30AM To Leave My Apartment Because
Leaving Before Then Means Being Cramped Like A Sardine In A Can On An
MTA Bus!!

Even In The Early Afternoon The S 40, S 46 and S 48 buses Are Breaking
Federal Law Because These Buses Are Always Overcrowded.

The Underlying Problem Upon Staten Island Is A Lack Of Trains. There Is
Just One Rail Line Upon Staten Island That Goes From The Ferry Terminal
To Tottenville.

There Are No Rail Lines To Any Of The Other Parts Of New York-NONE!

THAT IS VERY CLEARLY UNEQUAL TREATMENT, GENTLEMEN!!

The Problem, As I See It, Lies In The Fact That No One Has Ever Even
Bothered To Even Think About Ever Providing Adequate Public
Transportation Services To All Of The People Living Upon Staten Island!

THAT NEGLECT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED, FORTHWITH, GENTLEMEN!!

What Is It Like To Endure The Zoo York City Public Transportation
Follies Upon Staten Island??

For Your Perusal, Gentlemen, Are Two Pages Of Photographs Attached To
This Brief Letter:

The Top Photo On Page One Was Taken By Me As I Stood In Line On Ramp D
Of the St. George Ferry Terminal Awaiting A S 52 Bus.

The Man Hunched Over On The Bench Is In A Heroin Nod Brought On By
The Potent Afghanistan Heroin Sold Every Day Within The St. George
Ferry Terminal!!

Many Months Ago I Saw Another Man Draped Over A Railing At The End Of
Ramp D And I Thought That He Was Having Some Sort Of Medical Problem. I
Entered The Ferry Waiting Room And Knocked On The Door to The Police
Room And Told The Female Officer That I Thought That The Guy On The
Railing Was Sick And Needed Medical Attention,

Presently This female Officer And A Male Officer Followed Me To Where
This Man Was And The Female Officer Admonished Me For Bothering The New
York City Police Department About A Junkie That Had Just Gotten His
Heroin Fix!!

So I Learned That Day That Heroin Is Being Sold And Used At The St.
George Ferry Terminal Every Day; And The New York City Police Department
Knows About It And Ignores It!! It Must Be Part Of The Directive To
Keep The Reports Of Crime To An Absolute Minimum!!

The Bottom Photo On Page One Was Taken By Me After, In A Trance Bus
Driver -Larry Lead Foot- Drove Three Bus Lengths Past My Bus Stop Before
He Stopped His Speeding Bus !! Below Is The On-Line Complaint That I
Filed To The MTA.

Dear Mr. Walder,

Today at 12:01PM I boarded S 78 N/E bus # 3982 at the Shoprite on Hylan
Blvd. just past New Dorp Lane. I call this bus driver Larry LeadFoot
because he is always in a dangerous hurry.

I wanted to get off of this bus at Vanderbilt Avenue and I rang the bell
and stood up way before the bus even got to the traffic light.

However Larry LeadFoot did not pull into the bus stop but sped right past
it with me yelling at him to " Stop The Bus "!!

The bus was THREE BUS LENGTHS PAST THE BUS STOP WHEN LARRY LEADFOOT
OPENED THE DOOR TO LET ME OFF.

I took a picture of how far away I was from the bus stop and then I
walked with my cane and full grocery bag back to the bus stop!!

This bus driver needs mental help before he kills someone with one of
your buses!!!

The Two Photos On Page Two Were Taken On March 5, 2010. The Top Photo,
Or The One On The Right, Was Taken At The Corner Of Westervelt Avenue
And Hamilton Avenue Where A Guy Had Parked And Left His Car Going The
Wrong Way On A One Way Street. The S 42 Bus To The Ferry Was Stuck
There For Quite Some Time!!

The Driver Came Out Of the Store On Westervelt Avenue To Move His Car
But the Female Officer, To Her Credit, Insisted On Giving This Guy A
Ticket.

The Streets That The S 42 Travel Upon Are Really Too Narrow For A
Regular Sized MTA Bus. When the Consolidated S 42 And S 52 Is Put Into
Effect These Kind of Things Are Going to Happen All of the Time, As Well
As The Bus Not Running In Any Kind Of Bad Weather!!

The Bottom Picture Is Of One Of The -Not In Service- Buses Passing By Me
As I Waited For The Scheduled 9:19AM S 44 Bus To The Staten Island Mall
Which Never Showed Up.

It Seems That The 9:45AM S 44 Bus Driver Is Not The Only One On The S 44
Route To The Staten Island Mall That Does Not Bother To Pick Up Any
People While These Drivers Are Paid $27.00 Per Hour.

Just Like The NYPD Upon Staten Island; The Management Of The MTA Just
Looks The Other Way While The Step-Children Of Staten Island Are Being
Left In The Bus Stops Every Day!! Below Is The On-Line Complaint That
I Filed With The MTA:

Dear Mr. Walder,

Today I was at the bus stop on Richmond Terrace at Westervelt Avenue
waiting for the scheduled 9:19AM S 44 bus to the Staten Island Mall but
the bus never showed up. Did the bus driver leave early, Mr. Walder, or
was one of the the buses going by displaying a -Not In Service- sign
supposed to be picking up people instead of driving by them??

Such Is The -Quality of Service- Regularly Received By The Step-Children
Of Staten Island As We Endure The Contempt Of The Government That We Pay
Dearly For Through Layers Of Multiple Fees, Tolls, Taxes, And Licenses!!

THIS CLEARLY IS NOT HOW THINGS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE DONE, GENTLEMEN!!

YOU BETCHA!!!!

Respectfully,
