Here on Staten Island there must be something in the water that our
government employees must be drinking that eliminates all of the
logic and common sense that they were born with.

At the corner of Tompkins Avenue and Vanderbilt Avenue our illogical
Department of Transportation moved the bus stop from the corner to
outside of the parking lot to the Richard H. Hungerford School. This
did not stop the school bus drivers from parking their school buses
in the bus stop while they heehawed and giggaleed waiting for the
special needs children to get out of school. The ambulance drivers
also park their vehicles in the bus stop all of the time.

How much do you want to bet that the City of New York has never ever
issue a ticket to anyone parked in the four bus stops at the corner
of Tompkins and Vanderbilt Avenues.

The MTA would like its bus riders to exit their buses by the rear
door; but how can you do that if there isn't enough room between the
open rear door of the MTA bus and the side of the school bus for you
to fit your body through??

MTA bus drivers are supposed to pull their buses over to the curb to
let people on and off of the bus. The New York City Police Force is
supposed to put tickets on any vehicles even standing within a MTA
bus stop, never mind a vehicle being parked within a bus stop.

That is the way things are supposed to be!! Not on Staten Island!!!

What is the rational, logical solution to this problem? It is not a
problem to a person with any common sense - MOVE THE BUS STOP AWAY
FROM THE SCHOOL BUILDING. Why is that so hard to contemplate???

Anyone standing on the corner of Tompkins and Vanderbilt Avenues can
see three bus stops. The forth bus stop is way down Tompkins Avenue
outside of the Richard H. Hungerford School parking lot.

The bottom two pictures shows where the S 52 and S 78 Bus Stop in
the inbound direction to the Saint George Ferry Terminal should be.

The bus stop on Tompkins Avenue should stretch from the driveway of
the brown house to about within eight to ten feet from the corner of
Vanderbilt Avenue.

Alas, that makes much to much sense!!
We Can Not Have Any Of That On Staten Island!!
