And More Stuck On Stupid

On the last page of Paynal Parables there is one entitled More Stuck On
Stupid which is about the dislocated bus stop on Tompkins Avenue past
Vanderbilt Avenue.

The top photo on the right shows a school bus driver blocking up the bus
stop with his vehicle as he waits for his passenger on March 16, 2010.

The second photo shows a bus that has to let people off in the street
because it can not pull into the bus stop. While people are getting off
of and boarsing this bus; the street is blocked by the bus and traffic
can not move toward the ferry terminal until the bus moves.

This situation could be easily straightened out by moving the bus stop
onto the other side of the intersection of Tompkins and Vanderbilt
Avenues completely away from the Hungerford School.

On March 16, 2010 I sent the following email complaint to the M.T.A.
which was given the reference number 100316-000236.

New York, NY 10017 March 16, 2010

Dear Mr. Walder,

Today at 2:19PM I boarded S 78N/E bus # 6236 at the Shoprite on Hylan
Blvd. This bus driver also has Curbitis!

HE HAD TO LET ME OFF IN THE STREET BECAUSE THE BUS STOP ON
TOMPKINS AVENUE AT VANDERBILT AVENUE IS BLOCKED UP EVERY DAY
WITH VEHICLES PICKING UP THE HUNGERFORD SCHOOL CHILDREN.

That bus stop should be on the other side of Vanderbilt Avenue where any
human being with any common sense would have placed it. I took some more
pictures for my website where there are already pictures of this on-going
" Stuck On Stupid " Situation!!

At 2:54PM I boarded S 52 bus # 6156 headed for the ferry terminal with a
lot of difficulty because after I had asked the driver to please lower
the bus he held his finger on the button for a milli-second and the bus
went down half an inch.

The bus reached the top of the hill on Beach Street and waited for the
light to turn green. When the driver was entering the intersection of St.
Pauls Avenue there was an Atlantic school bus blocking him from making
the turn because it was too far forward. The time was 3:00PM!

Instead of backing up this " Stuck On Stupid " female school bus driver
( Atlantic bus 010058 ) pulled forward up to the M.T.A. bus I was sitting
on. After honking horns most of the cars made u-turns and left.

I TOOK SOME PICTURES, MR. WALDER, AND A FEMALE PASSENGER LET ME
USE HER CELL PHONE TO CALL 911.

GRATEFULLY A TOW TRUCK DRIVER ASKED THE FEMALE SCHOOL BUS DRIVER
TO BACK UP WHICH SHE STILL REFUSED TO DO. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER
THEN MADE SURE THAT THERE WERE NOT ANY CARS BEHIND YOUR M.T.A.
BUS AND HE BACKED UP DOWN THE HILL!! THE IGNORANT SCHOOL BUS
DRIVER THEN YELLED " LEARN HOW TO DRIVE " AS SHE WENT PASSED US.

THE ROADWAYS WERE BLOCKED BECAUSE OF HER RUNNING THE LIGHT
AND BLOCKING THE BOX AND SHE HURLS INSULTS!!

The driver of bus 6156 was so rattled he missed letting some people off
at their bus stops!!


The bottom two photgraphs on the right were taken of this Totally Dumb
Situation that, unfortunately, happens a lot because the Department of
Transportation has not adjusted the light so that no vehicles are ever
where the school bus is.

AGAIN, THAT WOULD MAKE COMMON SENSE!!!

However, Common Sense Solutions Are Not Allowed Upon Staten Island!!
