Blue vs Gray / Ego WHIZ-BANG Aftermath

On August 11, 2008 I was on a # 79 Bus that had to pull over to the
right to let a speeding ambulance get by. Little did I know, at that
time, that the speeding ambulance was heading for a mini-version of
the " Civil War ".

When we get up in the morning we might have plans for the day, or a
list of things to be done; but sometimes Heaven and Earth have other
plans for us.

When that # 79 Bus got to the intersection of Hylan Blvd. and Narrows
Road South the ambulances had already left with the many injured.

I am glad that I did not see what happened. I am glad that I did not
witness the injuries that had to have been sustained in this harsh
act of fate.

Both Hylan Blvd. and Narrows Road South are one way streets at this
intersection; which is controled by a working traffic signal!!

Cars are Not Supposed to Be Crashing Into Each Other Here!!

Automobiles are driven by Human Beings; and every Human Being has an
Ego. Sometimes a Human Ego is a Human Body's Very Worst Enemy.

Where I live there are a lot of squirrels and cats. Once in a while
one of them gets squashed by the tire of a moving vehicle because an
error in Judgement, along with their ego; Compelled them to run into
the street, at precisely the wrong time.

Heaven and Earth had decided that it was time for their lives to end.

The drivers of these two cars did not know when they woke up that
Heaven and Earth had decided to alter their agendas for the day.

The "gray car" sustained major damage to its right front fender upon
impact so it had to have been on Narrows Road South when it entered
the intersection. The impact of the crash, along with the cars speed,
sent the car 90 degrees to the left and down Hylan Blvd. a ways.

The "blue car's" whole front end was smashed up on both sides. It may
have collided with the gray car and then hit, and bounced off of, the
light pole.

The New York Police Department and the New York Fire Department were
summoned to deal with this Aftermath of Fate!! They had to dig the
damaged Human Bodies out of the crumpled cars so that the E.M.T.'s
could transport all of them to the Hospital.

The Firemen swept the many pieces of car to the side of the road; and
spread sand over the oil, and transmission fluid, in the street.
The Police Department then used one of their vehicles to push the
cars to the curb; so that traffic could once again go down Hylan Blvd.

The official " Paperwork " will list this incident as yet another
" traffic accident " on Staten Island. Years from now a Judge and
Jury will determine whose " Ego " was at fault and then someone's
( or both ) insurance company will be forced to pay out an awful
lot of " Pain and Suffering " money.

Anywhere a person goes they will surely see " Bloated Ego's " at the
wheel of moving machines; darting in and out of traffic and speeding
trying to " Beat The Next Light ".

local Hospital!!
