Our Tourist Monument!!
(2011-02-20 at 18:20:41 )
The Tourists come to New York City and they take lots of pictures. The Tourists take pictures of the Empire State Building. The Tourists take pictures of the Bronze Bull in Lower Broadway. The Tourists take pictures of " The Pit At Ground Zero ". The Tourists take pictures of the Statue of Liberty while they ride the Staten Island Ferry.
I live on Staten Island and every once in a while I will take pictures, too. Within this Parable are f ive of my pictures. In one picture you will see a building that seems to have been brought back here from some future world or another dimension. In another picture you will see a f ine looking, well built, boat docked outside of the
f inancial district.
I wish the Tourists would take the # 51 Grant City bus from the f erry Terminal and get off of the bus at the
f irst bus stop on the other side of the Clifton Station of the Staten Island train. Looking towards Brooklyn
they would see the government building at One Edgewater Plaza and the abandoned van that is a Sterling Example
of just what " Government " stands for on here upon Staten Island.
There is a present picture, on top, of the van as it now sits in full view of all of
the " Civil Servants " that park and work within One Edgewater Plaza. There is
also an earlier picture that was taken many, many months ago. Back then the
van still had a license plate on it. " Our Great Staten Island Monument "
still sits there, in the bottom photo, in its Full Glory!!
This van clearly symbolizes our grossly ineff ective and incompetent
Staten Island Government and therefore it rightly deserves a big
" Plaque of Off icial Recognition " placed right there next to it!!
Staten Island Is The Stepchild Of New York City; We Get The Crumbs Or Nothing At All!!
