How Ukraine Is Winning The Social Media War by Declan Hayes!
Forget about the real war. In the virtual world, Ukraines Nazis are winning hands down.
Forget about the real war. In the virtual world, Ukraines Nazis are winning hands down. Mr. Zelensky is getting far more likes on Facebook and Twitter than General Armageddon. Has anyone Snapchatted the news to President Putin??
The BBC, NATOs major media sledgehammer, reports that the witty, suave, brave Ukrainian trolls are slam dunking their Russian counterparts and "if this was a war of memes, we would be winning." Of course, the war in Ukraine is not a war of memes and General Armageddon does not scroll through his Facebook messages over his morning coffee. He is of a different mind set and of a different age. He has an offline job to do and, if the reports of drone attacks on Kiev are true, his sledgehammer approach seems to be doing it with no social media distractions.
For there is the nub of the matter. General Armageddon gets on with the job of ending the Ukrainian war and he surrenders the hot air to NATOs armies of trolls. No wonder a number of countries allied to Russia tweeted that their citizens should get out of Dodge on the first available stagecoach. General Armageddon is the new sheriff in town and he is not impressed by the online fancy talk and puerile memes the BBC excels at.
BBC News has 48 million Facebook followers. BBC World News twitter feed has 38.6 million Twitters followers and it follows only 18 accounts, all of which are BBC affiliated and all of which show that the BBC, especially if taken in conjunction with its NATO allies, is a very major, if not the major, social media player.
As the Pentagon summoned all of the United States of Americas social media influencers at the beginning of the Ukrainian war to give them their orders, we can easily imagine the terms that NATO dictated to the BBC, The Economist and their other major propaganda outfits.
Not that the Russians are complete slouches. I previously remarked on George Galloways Russia Today interviews, which were aimed at a demographic older than NATOs Snapchat lot. Though Russia Today had been viewed over 10 billion times on youtube before NATO banned it. Girls Just Want To Have Fun, which I also cited in the Iranian context, has chalked up 1.1 billion hits. Though Russia Today was, in other words, not that huge a deal, NATO feared it, like it fears all truth tellers, both big and small.
When I first visited Iran, one of the things I noticed was their armies of young, female reporters and the top of the line Japanese cameras they wielded. It struck me that if the Iranians got a break, they could quickly build on the successes their movie industry has recently enjoyed.
But the BBC and NATO will not have any of that. The BBC has deliberately suppressed the Iranians, the Palestinians, the Syrians and, now, the Russians from telling their side of the story or even from portraying themselves as civilized humans like we Westerners like to pretend we are, sitting in our pristine Garden of Eden, like how that utter EU moron, Josep Borrell, recently described us and our Viennese coffee shops and Danish pastries.
I trust their NATO handlers do not leave Mr. Borrell or Ms von der Leyen anywhere near social media. With her penchant for dressing up in the national colors of Sweden (or is it Ukraine?), she would be wide open to meme attack if anyone bothered. Generals Armageddon and Shoigu certainly will not. They are serious soldiers with serious soldiering to do; President Putin will not; as he has bigger fish to fry. And, as for the hapless Mr. Lavrov, who was the first to treat the doomed Liz Truss like the empty headed NATO vessel that she is, it would take more than the meme factory of Greta Thunbergs big sister to impress him.
But let us get back to the point of the BBC article, if indeed it has a point. The start of the Ukrainian war, the Special Military Operation or whatever it is, was met by a flurry of activity by the BBC and other social media influencers to enflame Russophobia and justify NATO sending weapons of mass destruction to Ukraine and Ukraines Nazis sending their women and children to countries like Ireland, where over 2% of the population are now Ukrainian economic migrants, who have over stayed their undeserved welcome.
To the extent that this NATO propaganda campaign was successful, the BBC and NATOs other main conduits should take a bow. However, as with MI5s White Helmets’ campaign and as with MI5s use of chemical gas in Syria done, as Robert Stuart forensically highlighted, with the criminal connivance of the BBC, one must remember that Syrias ISIS legions, like the Nazis in Ukraine, are bit players in this entire farce.
As is the former porno actor Mr. Zelensky who, for those who look beyond the BBC, has been repeatedly exposed as a coked up two bit, panhandler with a penchant for green screens and white powder. At days end, Mr. Zelensky is an irrelevance, who got rich on the graves of others.
Not so Generals Shoigu and Armageddon, whose forces have called time on the BBC, their memes and their green screens. For the truth is that their victory goes far beyond the borders of Ukraine or Russia. It extends Westwards and, more importantly to the east and south east where the peoples of China, Iran, Western Asia, Latin America and Africa are taking due note. As is multi billionaire Elon Musk, who got only abuse and a prominent place on Ukraines death list back for helping Mr. Zelenskys rump Reich with his Starlink spy satellites.
Whatever one may think of Mr. Musk, he has done us some service by highlighting the role of fake NATO bots that are at the heart of Twitter and its NATO partners. As they are at the heart of MI5s BBC, which proudly boasts that "BBC World Service is not regulated by Ofcom. Instead the BBC is responsible for setting its overall strategic direction, the budget and guarding its editorial independence for World Service" and that "the Chair of the Board of the BBC and the Foreign Secretary (or their nominated representatives) will meet at least annually to review the performance of the World Service".
So there you are. The BBC obeys only its own rules and it is constricted only by the orders of the Foreign Office, which is run by MI5s hard liners, who are men, women and transexuals hell bent on military conquest and punishing truth tellers like Julian Assange, Darya Dugina and Dr. David Kelly.
And if you check the twitter feed of Gary Lineker, Orla Guerin, Paul Adams, Merlyn Thomas or any other BBC spinmeister, you will see they are not marked down as BBC-MI5 employees the way George Galloway, who has no connection with "Russian state- affiliated media", has NATOs Achtung! Beware sticker on his account.
So, in celebrating how and why NATOs Kiev puppet is winning the meme war by beating cute little memes like this, let us join General Armageddon in paraphrasing Rhett Butlers parting meme to Scarlett O Hara in that frankly my dear BBC, I do not give a damn because you have to justify your outrageous budget and your blatant biases to your MI5 masters by arguing that your coke snorting Kiev puppets can make better memes than can ten year old Russian children and you are too lost in your narcissism to see that the Russian military do not care about any of your childish nonsense.
Enjoy your morning Starbucks and Mars bars while you can!!
