We're Back To Square One!

" Star Trek " fans know about " The Federation's Prime Directive " and how
no one, under any circumstances, was to violate it. The mayors of New York
City get to administer a " Prime Directive " to their hand picked Police
Commissioner.

The Honorable Michael R. Bloomberg's " Prime Directive " to the N.Y.P.D.
is all about " the statistics ". Keep the crime statistics down, people!!

So how does the desperately undermanned Staten Island Police Force keep
the statistics down??

Felonies get reduced to misdemeanors. There's no body here, so nothing
happened. We weren't here so no crime ever happened. You'll have to go
to the District Attorney. He did not sell us any drugs so we can not
arrest him. His name's not on the lease; so he does not live there.
Ma'am he did not strike you; so we do not need to file a report that he
violated any order of protection. Ad Infinitum!!!

Every neighborhood has good citizens tired of merchants selling liquor and
cigarettes to minors. Every neighborhood has good citizens pleading for
years and years about the sale and use of narcotics all over Staten
Island but our Police department does not want to have anything to do with
" The Pesky Civilians ".

The N.Y.P.D. only wants to talk to the " perps " willing to " snitch "
on another criminal and therefore solve a case for them.

On the last day of school a pupil of I.S.49 brings a gun to school to
" get somebody ". The " authorities " are planning to try him as an adult.
What about all of the people that screwed up this kid before the last day
of school? Aren't there any " Aiding and Abetting " laws enforced here?

On the North Shore 14 year old children with a handgun is just as
commonplace as 14 year old children with cell phones.

Chief Stephen R. Paragallo takes over Staten Island now and we so lowly
" Civilians " have to start all over with the new guy. I'll renew my
written complaints about the crack distributor intent on taking over
Curtis High School through his teenage dealers. I'll refile all of the
written complaints I made to Chief Girimonte that he never saw, or else
he completely ignored. We're back to square one here folks!!

There isn't any crime on Staten Island and the statistics will prove it!
