A Dramatic Change in the Correlation of Forces by Paul Craig Roberts!
"There is a genuine question whether Syria actually exists anymore." - former United Kingdom Ambassador Craig Murray. The Israelis are taking more and more of Syria. "please see here:"
Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey are complaining about Israels occupation of parts of what was formerly Syria. Turkey is hypocritical as Turkey has occupied parts of northern Syria for eight years. The United States occupies the oil area of what was Syria. The United States and United Kingdom describe Israels occupation as self-defense and temporary.
The media, including Russias, continues to misinform, describing the United States-Israeli overthrow of Syria as a "Syrian rebel takeover that toppled the Assad familys 50-year rule."
Of course, no such thing happened. The Syrian Army had already defeated the "Syrian democratic opposition" and could easily have done so again. The problem was that the Syrian Army stood down. It did not fight. It abandoned without a fight all the main cities, including Damascus. Clearly, the Syrian generals were paid not to fight, and for money they sold out their country, which is now to become part of Greater Israel.
President Putin, by turning his back on an ally for whom Russia had fought for nine years has reduced his chances of prevailing in Ukraine on his terms. Trump will be told that an easy victory awaits. If Putin will walk away from a war that he fought for nine years in Syria, he will walk away from a three year war in Ukraine. Trump will be advised that victory in Syria can be matched with victory in Ukraine.
Iran will also pay a high price for deserting Syria. The betrayal has left Iran isolated and unsure of Russia because Russia also betrayed Syria. Iran has a new government, a reformist one. In Iran the argument will be now that we are isolated, we have no option but to accommodate the West. The collapse of Iranian resistance will give Israel primacy in the Middle East and leave Washington,D.C. in control of oil flows and waterways.
Saudi Arabia will be scrambling to reinstate the petro-dollar in exchange for Washington,D.C.s protection.
The correlation of forces have dramatically changed. People pay attention to who has the biggest battalions, and the rush to join BRICS will slow down.
In Tucker Carlsons interview of Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov, Lavrov made it clear that Russias main agenda is to avoid war. Lavrov denied that the United States and NATO firing missiles into Russia means that Russia and the West are at war.
With Russias humiliating defeat in Syria by the United States and Israel, Washington,D.C. tested the waters by again firing missiles into Russia. The Russian Ministry of Defense again repeated its meaningless words: "Ukraines Attack With ATACMS Missiles on Russias Taganrog Airfield Will not Go Unanswered."
A government that meant what it said would not have bothered with another statement. Instead, as soon as the missiles were launched, something of significance in Kiev or the West would have blown up. The answer would have been instantaneous. But Putins way is different. In the event that there is any response, first Putin will inform all concerned so that Russia can avoid killing a single one of her enemies and then blow up empty buildings.
Washington is relying on President Putins humanitarianism to defeat Russia.
