From Fred Reed

If you want something resembling an accurate picture of the Government and its Misbehavior, you can piece it together from the Guardian, Rolling Stone, Drudge, the Unz Review, and Antiwar.com. If you want actual Government, it is Hopeless. But Washingtons antics are at least interesting. You know, like watching the fingers fall off of a leprosy patient.

It is time we viewed the State for what it really is: a mechanism by which Rulers Enrich Themselves at the Expense of the Ruled. Everything else is a Smokescreen!!

From U.S. Senator Rand Paul

"Our government is simply too big and too out-of-control. When it comes to receiving fair justice, perhaps Black Americans understand this best."

Democracy must be something more than two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner.

From Noam Chomsky

It used to be said years ago that the United States is a one-party state -- the business party -- with two factions, Democrats and Republicans. That is no longer true. It is still a one-party state -- the business party -- but now it has only one faction. And it is not Democrats, it is moderate Republicans. The so-called New Democrats, who are the dominant force in the Democratic Party, are pretty much what used to be moderate Republicans a couple of decades ago. And the rest of the Republican Party has just drifted off the spectrum.

From Leonard E. Read

It is incorrect to think of liberty as synonymous with unrestrained action. Liberty does not and cannot include any action, regardless of sponsorship, which lessens the liberty of a single human being. To argue contrarily is to claim that liberty can be composed of liberty negations, patently absurd. Unrestraint carried to the point of impairing the liberty of others is the exercise of license, not liberty. To minimize the exercise of license is to maximize the area of liberty. Ideally, government would restrain license, not indulge in it; make it difficult, not easy; disgraceful, not popular. A government that does otherwise is licentious, not liberal.

Economic freedom is based on a simple moral rule: everyone has a right to his or her life and property, and no one has the right to deprive anyone of these things.

Liberty means responsibility. That is why most men dread it.

From Helen Keller

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.

From Darryl W. Johnson, Jr.

It is a mistake for the government to consider the problems of the sick apart from those of society as a whole...The broader problem is, in a moral sense, one of promoting respect for the individual and the furtherance of initiative and self-providence; in an economic sense, one of increasing production for the benefit of all citizens; and in a political sense, one of removing government as a battlefield for special favor and substituting cohesion and solidarity for division and disintegration.

" Governments are instituted for the defense of the rich against the poor. Wars are waged to make them richer. "

"It is well enough that people of this nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning."

There is no kind of dishonesty into which otherwise good people more easily and frequently fall than that of defrauding the government.
